Fallout Jewelry Rack

I made this rack for my daughter who has
become a big Fallout fan recently. The picture in the background is hand painted. The caps are printed nuka logos glued to real battlecaps. I dented them up and gave them rust effects as well as other weathering and dirt. They are mounted on three inch wood pegs . thanks for looking!

Ride eternal, shiny and chrome!

I made a mad max fury road themed window sticker with brushed chrome vinyl and my cricut machine. Turned out pretty good.

Once on this Island jr props

Alright well its been a while since I gave this blog a little love, and sadly this update will not be Halloween themed. My daughter was in the play "Once On This Island jr" and I built and painted most of the sets for it. I wanted a place to document what I did, and since I used many of my "haunter" skills on these props, I figured this is a good place for these pictures.

This tree was in the begining and end where the girl sits. It hid the ladder the kids used.

These two were one side of  8x 12 ft "periactoi"; there were two of them.  The other sides were the same jungle but ruined from a storm, and scenes for the hotel.

This was the hotel side of the periactoi.

Since we are on the subject of the hotel, these are the sign for the front of the hotel amd the gate the main character dies by. The hotel sign is routered insulation foam.

This periactoi side represents the home of the main character. It is also made from carved insulation foam, covered with grass skirting.

These two pictures show the stage front and the three palm trees I made. The trees are volleyball poles coverd with school roll paper.

Drop me a comment if you have any comments or questions, or just to say hey.

New tombstone and Flying Crank Ghost for the 2009 season

So first up is a new tombstone for my cemetery. Its made of (found) blue 2" foam insulation sheet, a skull from Walmarts bag of bones, and two rigid foam kids play fort pieces.

The weathering was done with some water and a torch, then painted with a water and spraypaint technique.

This is my new FCG for the 2009 season, I didn't have one last year so I'm happy to be putting this one in service as its always a hit.

Its made with the rest of the bag of bones, a skull from Walgreens, and a lump of painted Styrofoam for the rib/chest area. The fabric is washed with tide to give it the UV properties. The face and bones are painted with an equal mix of UV red, UV yellow and UV blue paint. These three colors in UV mix to a whitish shade, unlike regular paint which will turn brownish black. Not sure why, something to do with the UV and the light it reflects vs regular paint and the absorbtion of light. Maybe one of you "smarter than me" types can explain it better. Anyway, the all I need to do now is hook up the strings and it s good to go.

On mothers day my mom brought me a gift, my favorite book I had when i was a kid. (Its the original by the way, she saved it)

Lamont is looking for a friend, but all he finds are scary monsters. God I loved that book.

Thanks mom.
